Joseph Scone dedicated most of his adult life in service to the county. Joe served in the United States Marine Corps from 1984 to 1989, his hometown National Guard unit 1990-1992, and on active duty again with the U.S. Army from 1992-2009. Joe deployed to Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). Now he uses his military leadership skills and legal skills to fight for those who were hurt.
“When someone is gets hurt through no fault of their own, they deserve to be made whole. That may mean disability and medical benefits from the government or reimbursement for doctor bills, lost wages, and property damage from an insurance company. Under either circumstance, people deserve to be treated with courtesy and respect and not run down by giant organizations.”
In law school, Joe was admitted to the prestigious international legal honors society, Phi Delta Phi. He earned honors for his pro bono by dedicating hundreds of hours of service to those unable to afford legal help. Two of his writings were accepted for publication while still a student. Joe earned a Fellowship with the High Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina War Crimes Tribunal. Joe graduated cum laude with a Juris Doctorate and a Certificate in International and Comparative Law.
“God gave me a tremendous gift, my life, it is my responsibility to use it to bring about some good in the world.”
